Series 1
Series 1 MicroPet instruction sheets state the friends of each of the ten MicroPets in the sets, and so are of greater value compared to later sheets. This information is not on EU packaging. We currently only know Kuda, Siren and Bob's friends. So far, only the Thai instructions seem to be in color, and the full booklet has been documented below.

Instructions:
Thanks for adopting Bob, your new MicroPet. Bob does not need any programming, and is immediately ready to play with you. Here is some basic information about how your MicroPet works. First things First:
1. Remove the clear plastic isolation strip from the bottom of your MicroPet.
2. Place your MicroPet on a smooth, flat surface.
On: To start, touch the button on Bob's head. Immediately, Bob's eyes will light up. He might also walk forward a little, and make some sounds. Each time he is turned on, he will make some wake-up' sounds and movements like this.
Off: To turn [Name] off, hold down the same button for 5 seconds, until he sings his good-bye song. This is the signal to you that it is okay to lift your finger off of the button, and that he has turned off. He will continue to sleep until you press the button again to re-start.
Tip 1: Speak clearly to your MicroPet. MicroPet's ears are quite small, so try speaking closely to their face. You can tell your MicroPet hears you if his eyes light up after you speak to him. (If his eyes continue not to light up, and he is not responding, read the trouble-shooting section).
Tip 2: A short pause between words and phrases is all that is needed. ([Name]'s eyes will blink to acknowledge he has heard you!)
Tip 3: Rehearse the sample script below to begin, but feel free to improvise with your Micropet, make up your own phrases, and learn how your MicroPet reacts.

When you say (or do): |
Your MicroPet will: |
"Bob" |
Eyes will light up. |
"Talk to me!" (or any long phrase such as, "What do you have to say for yourself?") |
Respond with a sound. |
"Bob"... (eyes will light)... "Run!" "Bob"... (eyes will light)... "Walk!" |
Bob will begin to move forward. |
"Bob" ... (eyes will light)... "I command you to turn left" |
Begin to march to the left. |
"I order you to turn to the right... (eyes will light)... Bob." |
Begin to march to the right. |
"You're a crazy monster... (eyes will light)... you're a very crazy monster!" |
Bob will laugh, giggle, and happily acknowledge the praise. |
Clap your hands 5 times |
Bob will sing a song (Note: It is very important to wait for Bob's eyes to light up between each hand-clap.) |
Ignore Bob |
Bob will cry for your attention at first. Then his personality will change, he becomes upset, and will not obey further commands. |
Keep repeating the same command over and over. You tell your MicroPet to run again and again. |
Bob gets tired and annoyed. Eventually becomes upset, and will not obey further commands. |
You observe that Bob is annoyed or mad |
Bob stops obeying your commands and moans and groans, or makes other strange sounds. |
To make your MicroPet happy again, praise him. Try, "You're a crazy monster... (eyes will light)... you're a very crazy monster!" |
Bob will spring back to happiness with a cheerful little song. (Note: You may have to praise him several times.) |
Ignore Bob's cry for attention |
Bob will fall asleep, and begin to snore. You must press the start button to wake him again. |
Very important: Watch for the MicroPet's eyes to light up between each command or phrase. This signals that the MicroPet has heard and understands you. His eyes lighting up is the signal that he is ready for his next command.
Trouble shooting:
If the following symptoms occur, it is most likely due to low battery power, and the batteries should be changed:
⚫LLED lights keep blinking ⚫Makes a "zzzzz" or "bbbb" sound.⚫ The sound is crackly, or husky
If your Micropet is not reacting to your voice, you might have accidentally pushed the power button on his head, and put him into demo mode. In this case, turn it on and off. If the problem persists, replace the batteries. If your MicroPet tries to move forward, but stays in the same place, dust might be preventing movement in the wheels. Remove the dust using the sticky side of some scotch tape.
